Fitz in the Morning - Weekdays: 5:30 AM - 9:00 AM
Tony Russell is co-host of Fitz in The Morning on The Wolf and he is 100 percent country...that southern drawl is a dead give away!. Born and raised in rural West Virginia, Tony has a masters degree in psychology from Marshall University (and is still a licensed counselor) but in 1996 he made the wise decision to sell his psychology practice and move to Texas to pursue a full-time radio career. It was there that he says he met the two people that would change his life forever.
He says, “One person I want to be with for the rest of my life and the other, I just can't seem to get rid of”...you decide who he is talking about! One of those people just happened to be Fitz with whom he first partnered with in 1998. The other is Amy, his wife of 13 years! Tony and Amy have three children.
After a short break to become an ordained minister, Tony re-teamed with Fitz and joined The Wolf in Seattle in 2006. Since “talking” is what he does for a living, he continues to counsel, teach and serve within churches in his community. Tony’s also been known to knock around the golf course, go camping with the family, jog with friends and occasionally enjoy a craft beer. Tony loves country music with some of his favorite artists being Brantley Gilbert, Eric Church, Kenny Chesney, Crawford and James, Aces Up, and fellow West Virginian, Brad Paisley. Tony's main goal: help the Fitz in The Morning show make everyone’s mornings fun! He says, "When people notice someone in another car driving and laughing hysterically, I want them to think that person must be listening to Fitz in The Morning too."
