Should Women Be Allowed In Combat?
Last week, the Pentagon decided open up thousands of near-the-front-line military jobs to female military personnel who were previously restricted from these types of jobs. What does this mean? I honestly had no idea that this was even going on to tell you the truth, but the simple fact still remains.....
Women are still banned from combat, although this move to put them closer to harm’s way has made a few people very mad, including Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum, who said that when women are too close to the front line “emotions” could lead to “compromised situations.” So what does the public think about the Pentagon’s measure? I have been around some very tough ladies in my life and to dismiss them because they have feelings and emotions seems wrong. Um hello have you watched Hilliary Clinton speak before? If it was do or die for that lady I think she could pop a few shots off and not cry about it.
According to an ABC News/Washington Post poll that was taken last year, 73 percent of American adults support allowing women in the military to serve in ground units that engage in close combat. Twenty-five percent opposed, and two percent had no opinion. WOLFPACK what do you think? While younger people and those who describe themselves as liberal are more likely to support women in combat, not single traditional demographic group was majority opposed to the idea in the ABC News/Washington Post survey.
IS BIGFOOT REAL?
I was watching Animal Planet TV when I came across a relatively new show called “Finding Big Foot,” and so I’m not a real big believer in this sort of thing, I couldn’t force myself to change the channel, so I watched and now I think there is something to this whole Big Foot creature theory. I think it’s not that far fetched to believe that a over sized hairy humanistic creature could be lurking in the woods all these years, isn’t it selfish of me to think we are the only ones here? Some of my relatives if they were to take thier shirt off could pass as this hairy object after all?
Think about it for just a nano second, remember when the new super deep water submarines discovered thousands of species and ocean creatures that have never been seen let alone captured or cataloged, just a couple of years ago? Today, I think there is a real possibility that a Big Foot type creature could live among us. Check out the video and you tell me, do you think Big foot exists?

Chocolate Twinkies Thumbs Up Or The Finger?
Twinkies, one of my favorite tasty treats, I was wondering how can you possibly make a Twinkie any better? Add chocolate that’s how. The “New Chocolate Twinkies” are out and obeying all speed limits, I drove as fast as I could to my local grocer to get a box of the heavenly delights. With all ten Twinkies in a box, present and accounted for I systematically started handing them out to everyone I knew was a fan of the little golden sponge cake delicacies. To my surprise, all but two of whom I shared my treats with did not care for them.
Of the two hold outs, best friend Kerry from Eugene. I actually had to MAIL HIM ONE! He texted me as soon as he took one bite and said, "HEAVEN”. Now onto the hater of the two, Grandad Ray from Montana, said “oh, no no no, you do not need to be messing with a classic, there’s only one Twinkie, straight out of it’s wrapper or deep fried!” As for everyone else they just didn’t like them, my one cop friend (our resident doughnut connoisseur) said “it’s almost sacrilegious, it just doesn’t seem right.”

Embarrassing Misspellings of ?School?
I admit I’m not the best speller (I’m double checking this article) but sometimes we need real life “spell check” for some situations. For example spelling the word “school”. For some folks it’s not an easy word but what makes it embarrassing is the fact that it’s promoting a crossing outside of a SCHOOL!
This happened a few months ago in New York outside of the Marta Valle High School in Manhattan. The city is denying any responsibility laying blame on the utility provider that had worked on the street and repainted the crossing. However, nothing has been done about the situation and so the misspelling stands as “xing shcool”. This school is apparently a dysfunctional school according to parents, who claim the students stand outside and smoke dope all day. Guess there is your reason for the misspelling, a graduate of the school maybe?

Garth Wins $1 Million in Hospital Suit
Garth Brooks was awarded $1 million last night in an Oklahoma court battle when the judge ruled in his favor. Garth sued Integris Health after he donated $500,000 but they failed to honor his request to name a building after his late mother, Colleen. The $1 million total represents Garth's original donation plus another $500,000 in punitve damages.
I'm not surprised that Garth won this case, but I am surprised at the judge awarding so much for punitvie damages.

I always thought these two had a rock solid marriage! So it's quite a shock to learn that they are separating. Seal has a new album coming out today, and some think the timing of announcing this split is to help sell records. TV FOR PEOPLE LIKE YOU AND I
If you are like me, you are tired of all the “reality” shows on television and are looking for some great shows to watch. Although I have my favorites on the mainstream channels, ABC, NBC and CBS there are some terrific shows on cable channels that I have found. AMC, FX, HBO and SHOWTIME all have some terrific series that shouldn’t be missed.
Cable channels have a little more leeway with their programming and they come up with some pretty terrific shows. They aren’t “reality” based like Housewife’s of (wherever), Jersey Shores, Bachelor, Mob Wives and more. They aren’t all about crying, cursing, hooking up, stabbing each other in the back and pulling hair. Although most of that is covered in these shows in one way or another, there is a little more meat to the stories. There have been some great shows like Deadwood, True Blood, Dexter, Weeds, and Oz that made you want to watch television again. There happen to be some more of those great shows currently running, at least in my opinion, so check out these new favorites of mine.
Last night was the beginning of the new season of “Justified” starring Timothy Olyphant as Rylan Givens on FX. I also loved Olyphant in HBO’s series “Deadwood”. He has a great gift for these dramatic roles he’s taken on. Justified is based on the crime books by Elmore Leonard about US Deputy Marshall Raylan Givens and takes place in Harlan, Kentucky. This season will have Givens up against the outlaw drug runners, dirty politicians and even an outside pain in the butt from Detroit. Givens has his own way of doing things and justice is always served to those who deserve it. You can check out the show Tuesdays at 9pm on FX. This original trailer from season one sets the stage for the show. I promise it’s worth watching.
“Hell on Wheels” featured on American Movie Classics (AMC) just wrapped it’s first season and was such a hit it has been given the green light for a second season in 2012. The show is about the building of the railroad following the Civil War. It features several story lines from the railroad developer who gets killed and his wife continuing his dream to see the railroad built, to a down and out soldier who can’t seem to find peace since his wife was brutally killed, to blacks trying to find their way since the end of slavery, Indian relations and everything in between. The show is just really well scripted and is 1 of 2 great shows you will find on AMC (we will talk about the other one next). The cast includes Anson Mount, Common, Colm Meany, Dominique McElligott and more. You can catch the show at 9pm.
“The Walking Dead” is also found on AMC and has new shows beginning February 12th at 8pm/central. The show is based on a comic book by Robert Kirkman and is about the dreaded “zombie apocalypse”. It follows a group of survivors who have to defend themselves against the zombies but even more so, the other survivors. Yes it is a show that’s a little bit “out there” but it is a good show that shows the trials of surviving each persons personalities and gut instinct to fight for yourself and trust no one.

A Penny Worth Over A Million Dollars
A PENNY WORTH OVER A MILLION DOLLARS!!!! It's TRUE!!!
Usually a penny isn’t even worth 1 cent but if you have a special old penny it can be worth Millions, $1.38 million to be exact.
A one cent penny fetched that amount of money at a Florida coin collectors convention over the weekend.
The US minted it’s own currency in 1793 in Philadelphia and this coin survived. Making it 218 years old. However, the coin was never in circulation. It was said to be in the possession of collector of collector’s, Louis E. Eliasberg. He reportedly owns at least one of each coin ever minted in the US.
Ben Franklin is rumored to have designed this particular coin although it’s not known for sure to be true. The coin has a chain design on one side giving it it’s name “Chain Coin”.

Finally! Joran van der Sloot Pleads Guilty to Murder!
Joran van der Sloot pleads guilty to murdering a Peruvian woman in 2010. This is also the guy who many think killed American teenager Natalie Hollway in Aruba back in 2005.
Natalie is from Mountain Brook, Alabama which is a suburb of Birmingham, Alabama where I lived for five years much of which was during the time Natalie's mother, Beth was looking fo her. I'm of the belief that Joran killed Natalie too, and I hope he finally gets what he deserves for killing these women. Read the whole story by clicking on the link below...

STAR WARS CHEESEBURGER
Darth Vader is the dark character from Star Wars and when the latest movie “Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace 3D” is released February 8 in France there will be a burger to go along with it. The French restaurant chain is “Quick” and they are releasing a very dark burger in conjunction with the movies release, much like we do here in the States. Now when I say it’s a ‘dark’ burger I mean it’s served on a black bun.
Not only will they have the Darth Vader burger but also a burger in honor of Darth Maul and Yoda. Each burger having it’s own special trait. The Darth Maul burger is on a semi-red (dyed) bun with poppy seeds the Yoda has squares of white cheese on a white bun (Looks like Yoda's teeth). The Vader burger almost looks burned because it’s on a black bun (dyed also) with double meat patties and pepper cheddar cheese.
Here in the states you usually get a toy or the food wrappers/boxes and cups are themed but I’m not sure I’ve ever seen the burgers dyed to fit the theme. I see no problem with a black bun it’s almost like a rye bun that is dark brown but it’s making headlines from France to the US. From the photos it looks pretty good, I’d eat it!!
