Monkey's Lead Singer Davy Jones Dead at 66

Davy Jones, the lead singer of the pop group The Monkees, died Wednesday at the age of 66.
.

"The only thing we can do is confirm that he has died of a heart attack at Indiantown, Florida this morning," Helen Kensick told Fox. "We will have more later.

The local medical examiner released a statement Wednesday confirming that they had been notified of the singer's death.

"The District 19 Medical Examiner's office has been notified of the death of Mr. Davy Jones," spokeswoman Rebecca Shortridge said."We are currently evaluating whether or not the medical examiner's office will take jurisdiction."

Jones, who last performed Feb. 19 in Oklahoma, formed the Monkees in 1966 with Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith and Peter Tork.

Their biggest hits included "Daydream Believer," "Last Train to Clarksville" and "I'm a Believer" and they also had a television show.

After the show went off the air, the group eventually disbanded but Jones continued to perform on his own.

Jones, a native of Manchester, England, is survived by his wife, Jessica, and four daughters from previous marriages.

TayBow?

Let all the ridiculous names begin...how about TayBow? It was Taylor who introduced herself to Tim at a Pre-Oscar bash.   Ok...here's the story if you haven't heard yet....

A romance may be brewing between Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow and country songstress Taylor Swift.

Tebow was the toast of a pre-Oscars bash on Friday night, where he spent some time chatting up Swift. The pair then had dinner Monday night at Toscanova Italian restaurant in Century City, according to the website Clevvertv.com.

"After dinner, he walked her out," a source told the website, adding that it was unclear whether the get-together was a date. "Then he walked back in to join two other people. I think they may both have been with their agents."

Should Tebow and Swift start dating, the football star is far more age appropriate for the 22-year-old singer than her past paramours Jake Gyllenhaal, 31, and John Mayer, 34. The two also have Christian values in common, as Tebow is known for praying on the field and Swift had a Christian rock band open for her on her last tour.

Swift recently denied reports that she was dating Zac Efron, her co-star in "The Lorax."

"He’s awesome, we are not a couple though," Swift said. "You hear people get together when they’re shooting movies, co-stars. But not like animated co-stars. You know what I’m saying."

Taylor Invites Cancer Patient to ACMS's!

She turned him down for the prom, so nowTaylor Swift is trying to make it up to Kevin McGuire by inviting him to be her date for this year's Academy of Country Music Awards.

"Obviously I said yes," the 18-year-old leukemia sufferer told the Philadelphia Enquirer."The ACM Awards is a lot better than the senior prom." McGuire said he plans to fly to Las Vegas for the awards show, which is set for April 1.

McGuire's sister Victoria had started a Facebook campaign which attracted 90,000 supporters to convince the music star to come to his prom after her brother had suffered a relapse of acute lymphoblastic leukemia, a condition that has currently left him hospitalized at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

"Kevin I'm so sorry but I won't be able to make it to your prom," Swift responded on Facebook to the request on behalf of her brother. "But I was wondering, the ACM Awards are coming up. Would you be my date?"

McGuire, who has suffered from the disease since he was 13, had beaten the cancer into remission in April 2010 only to see it return recently. The Somerdale, NJ, native had maintained his status as a varsity football player throughout his treatment and was hopeful on enjoying a normal senior year in high school before the relapse.

Swift found out about McGuire's campaign through her record label, according to the local Fox News affiliate, which brought the teen''s plea to the record company's attention.

"I don't know what else to say! I was just trying not to throw up," McGuire told the Philadelphia TV station.

"I have cancer. Cancer doesn't have me," McGuire added. "Taylor, I would love to go with you."
