I would be so proud of my child if they wrote this! It is a huge 'parenting done right' moment. Whoever raised this kid should be happy.
These parents should be proud!
3rd Grader's Essay on Gay Marriage
I would be proud. We should be accepting of others, gay, straight, asain, black, Catholic, Christian, Jewish, it is not our place to judge the way people live their lives or what they believe in.
This child was raised right! Cheers to the wonderful child and his family :)
I'd be pissed off at the school, just for having my kid write an essay on gay marriage. The third grade is too young for these kids to even know anything about being gay, or human sexuality in general!
That's a great opinion if that kid wrote it but somehow I don't think he or she did, I find it very hard to believe. If I found this, I would be very aware that my students or children are aware what all that would me.
I would be so proud to have my kid write that! Everyone deserves happiness and a right to marriage, regardless of who they love and nobody should get the right to judge them for who they love!
I'd love it if my son wrote something like that. Personally I think a child's opinion means so much more than an adults just because they haven't been exposed to all the hate and forced opinions of others. They still see the world in black and white, right and wrong. I hope my son is that loving and open when he gets to that age!
3rd grader, gay marriage
What a kid. That's awesome. I raise my children to accept everyone for who they are no matter what. This child is brave and very smart for his age. His parents should be proud. I would be. Kudos to him and them.
Using kids for an agenda, nothing new. Hitler did it and look how that ended up! What's next? Adult/child relationship? Man/Animal relationship? Who and what will be considered not right? When you do away with any kind of morals and values, any kind of decency then essentially anything goes. And why them should someone not be able to lay with an animal or anything for that matter?
@ So Typical
Surprise! There are already children who are forced into marriage with adults. And guess what? It's legal!
Being gay is not a choice. There is scientific proof to support that--look it up. Gay marriage should never be compared to beastiality or child rape, as like this child said so eloquently "because if you (or your child, or your mother, or your father, or, or, or.....) you wouldn't want people talking about you."
Little person all grown up!
I have gay friends who I love very much and the just got married April 5th! It was a very moving ceremony and I couldn't be happier for them! This little guy knows what he's talking about 😃kudos to him.
Love is love
Great kid, greater parenting!
Way to go kid
I would be proud to have that kid as mine... their parent or parents should be proud
Thank You Nick
Thanks so much for posting this! I can't wait for country songs to start venturing into lyrics that acknowledge gay relationships...
3rd graders know about this??
Why does a 3rd grader know about this kind of thing?? Seems a little premature and disgusting on the parts of the parents to be using a tiny child for an agenda. Complete immorality.
Way to go.
Equating gay marriage with rape????? I will never understand some people's thinking. Can you ever educate deliberate ignorance?
This cleaning lady (who is also a struggling mother of 3) showed up to clean this house.... and realized that someone had BOUGHT HER the house!! Truly an awesome story here! Watch below.

Citing Ty Herndon as inspiration yesterday... Billy Gillman filmed a video and uploaded it to YouTube. He is also gay.
Billy claims the fact that he is gay has kept him from signing a major record deal. If that's true, that is sad and...
Ty Herndon has come out of the closet! Read the entire story from People Magazine HERE.
Here's a couple of my favorite Ty Herndon songs from the 90's:
Good for you, Ty. I support your courage and hope you can be a role model...
Meghan Trainor (who sings "All About That Bass") steps up to the mic and belts out an AWESOME version of Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off"! This is addicting! Check it out.
